I couldn’t find a Finn/Fionna green backpack so I’m making one out of a green WinCo shopping bag it looks awful like not at all a backpack more like a shopping bag I turned into a pillow and sewed straps to out of the former handles but really whose gonna take pictures from the back? hopefully no one, I wouldn’t even bother with the backpack except its how I’m going to get the wings to stay on my back.

Yeah, I call bullshit on that "lol says more about you than about them" nonsense. You entered into a contract in good faith. You have fulfilled your part of the agreement: you paid. Being angry that you upheld your end and someone else is taking advantage of that fact? That only says that you don't want to throw away money and that the person you commissioned was unprofessional in the extreme--but there wasn't any way for you to know that beforehand.

gonna go ahead and answer this. The first three things I tried to commission was artwork from Deviantart artists who were all like “oh help I need to pay rent or whatever please buy a commission” so I go “okay heres some money” and tell them what I would like, which is never complicated, I’m an animator so my characters have very simple designs, and then you know what they do? Vanish. One uploaded a bunch of personal work for a straight year, and no commissions. a YEAR. I am not needy or bitchy, I e-mailed her like once every two month politely asking about the progress and finally after a year she offered a refund, which she never delivered. The other two just vanished off of Deviantart and never answered my messages. How are either of those my fault? what DOES that say about me, exactly?

the other two were cosplay. Okay, maybe the first one of those was my fault for making bad choices- I picked a commissioner who made a costume so bad, so unwearable that we just threw them out. They were too small, poorly painted, and fell apart at the lightest pressure. But okay fine. Thats on me for picking him. Now this last one, I paid back in February to make a costume thats just one simple dress and a wig. I’m not asking for some complicated shit here, its just the Harvest Goddess. She never made any attempts to contact me after I paid her and replied to my questions seldomly. The most recent complication was hardly her fault as she ended up hospitalized but exactly how is it MY fault either? What are you trying to explain to me? What DOES this say about me? All this says I think is I’m too fucking trusting with my money, and the world is full of liars and people like YOU who kick a girl when shes down.

“Poor commissioners” indeed. poor fucking them, they get to take my money and run away.

well I heard from the girl making my Harvest Goddess costume and I am officially not getting that on time, UPS didn’t come today either. I bought this costume back in FEBRUARY for THIS CONVENTION SPECIFICALLY but its not going to happen because for the fifth time for me, buying commissions are bullshit and I always end up frustrated and disappointed.

At least my last minute backup plan is working out but I still wish I had gotten what I paid for Now for the extra awkward part- trying to get some of my money back.

ok no more time for whining. now is time for SOLUTIONS. Playing under the assumption my costume is not going to be here before the con, I need a new costume- it has to be fast, it has to be simple, it has to be cheap. OH MY GOD! some of the most popular stuff at cons right now is simple and cheap! I buy a pretty wig, colour coordinate the dress- BAM, My Little Pony. I buy a Finn hat, thrift shop a blue skirt and top- BAM, Adventure Time. oh shucks though theres gonna be MILLIONS of other- WAIT A MINUTE. I take this rainbow wig. glue to this rabbit hat. buy blue shirt, tape on blue cardboard wings. Patch cutie mark to blue mini skirt- BAM. MY LITTLE ADVENTURE TIME. PERFECT. IM IN UR FANDOMS, CROSSIN OVER UR SHIT. I can whip this up in a DAY.

I think I’m all out of optimism for this costume. I kept thinking, MAYBE she can still get it in the mail on time, MAYBE it can get here by Friday at the latest, but I just got an email from her and she paid UPS but they never came to pick it up. so its still there. Even if they DO come tomorrow, which now seems unlikely, what are the chances that it will show up, from POLAND, by FRIDAY? EVEN with the 2 day shipping she paid for it doesn’t sound like it’ll be here until after I get back from the con. She seems confident if they come tomorrow it can still be here by Thursday (I would even take Friday, we can leave Friday and not miss the whole con) but I’m so tired of being hopeful. I’m just going to go to the con dressed as “Sad Chick Who Should Have Known Better”.
